Sustainable, biodynamic, and organic certified, the Lindquist family's winemaking philosophy is a combination of passion and commitment. With a lifetime devoted to the wine business, Bob Lindquist's story unfolds from cellar work in Long Island to crafting pure, balanced wines on California's Central Coast.

In 2000, Verdad Wine Cellars emerged, focusing on cool, coastal vineyards. Bob's love for Spanish wines led to crafting wines from Spanish grape varieties. The venture expanded with Cabernet Sauvignon in 2014, exploring its age-worthy potential.

Bob's commitment extends to Sawyer Lindquist label, producing Demeter Certified Pinot Noir and coastal Chardonnay. Embracing biodynamic farming, he grows and sources grapes fostering balanced ecosystems.

Bob's partner in wine and life, Louisa Sawyer Lindquist, joins the narrative. The Lindquist Family, post-Qupé, emerges in 2018, a testament to a legacy built on hard work, sustainability, and a focus on quality.

In their shared winery, Clendenen Lindquist Vintners, Bob and Louisa craft Lindquist Family wines. The story continues, with a new chapter in Albuquerque, New Mexico, contributing to VARA—a vibrant fusion of Californian, Spanish, and New Mexican wines and spirits.

Located in the walkable Arroyo Grande village, this is really two excellent wineries in one place. Really great, friendly experience, with excellent wines. The new location is lovely, with indoor, patio, and outdoor seating, with tasteful decorations. We loved the Spanish-inspired wines of Verdad, but are also fans of the Lindquist brand. You can taste from a wide variety, including Albariño, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Grenache, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay, Rose, Viognier, Mourvedre, Marsanne, GSM, Graciano, and Carignan, and the tasting menu changes every week or two. It lools like they allow food from the restaurant next door in the outdoor area, so I can see returning for a snack and enjoying a bottle at the same time.

This place is fabulous! Beautiful little building- very quaint, modern, clean, plenty of seating inside and outside on their adorable porch. You can sit and sip on vino while watching the cars go by and people walking down the street. The people who work here are so kind and welcoming. Nice rosé and several wine tasting options- or you can choose to do wine by the glass. If you’re visiting this small town- I recommend stopping by.

Such a lovely place and great wines. There are so few places that offer Spanish wines. I would definitely stop by. Plus, gluten free crackers.

Great people, excellent wine! Located in the quaint Village of Arroyo Grande this urban wine tasting room has a warm welcoming location, where you will find friendly and knowledgable staff. Many times the winemaker husband and wife team will be there pouring their Spanish, Burgundy and Rhone inspired wines. With so many options, there is something to pair with any meal. I find myself enjoying these wines and visiting sometimes twice a week!
