Tyler Winery, founded by Santa Barbara native Justin Tyler Willett, crafts wines of clarity and poise, sourced from historic vineyards like Sanford & Benedict. Embracing old vines and sustainable practices, Justin and wife Amanda established their Estate Vineyard, the Mae Vineyard. In the transverse ranges of Santa Rita Hills, Tyler's wines, marked by structure and vibrancy, are an ode to terroir. Organic farming, night harvesting, and minimal cellar impact define Tyler's approach. The Mae Estate, a new chapter, embodies sixteen years of winemaking expertise. An impeccably presented experience, incredibly informative in a picture-perfect setting. The absolutely perfect way to showcase all the work, from farming to production, that goes into creating some of the best wines in Santa Barbara County. We highly recommend a visit.
The setting is beyond gorgeous. The wine host extremely knowledgeable. And the wines were exceptional. Could not have asked for a better experience! Gabe spent a relaxing time with us as he explained Justin’s winemaking philosophy at Tyler and was able to respond to our many questions with grace and a wealth of experience. This was no ordinary tasting, where you pay for a flight and barely remember the wines after. This was a master class in appreciating the subtleties of Tyler wines in a crowded field of Pinot Noir. Each pouring a revelation as we received individual attention and had time to savor each sip. We will be back!
