In 1977, Roger and Cheryl Janakus started their winemaking odyssey in Illinois, purchasing a property in Lemont. Roger's longing for genuine wine grapes grew amidst a modest row of table grapes. Inspired by visits to Napa and Sonoma, he envisioned cultivating wine grapes in Michigan. A 145-acre farm was procured, becoming the canvas for their vinicultural dreams.

In pursuit of winemaking seriousness, Cheryl proposed a move to California. In 2000, they settled on ""Journey's End Ranch"" in Paso Robles, a transformative endeavor marked by meticulous soil preparation, infrastructure development, and planting. This commitment yielded a flourishing vineyard, and the Janakuses expanded with new facilities and a ranch on the East Side, now the heart of their esteemed winery and tasting room. Journey's End Ranch/Stranger Vineyards stands as a testament to their unwavering pursuit of vinicultural excellence, blending passion and persistence in every bottle.

Visited Jada's tasting room for the first time in several years and found that, much like some wines, it has only improved with time. Great staff, great wines, and a fun time.
Very cool vibe here. The service left just a little to be desired but the ambiance and wince were fantastic. This is a great place to go with friends and enjoy the music and views.

What an absolute gem. A little off the beaten path - and for good reason. This gem dominated our last few tasting experiences in the Paso region and cemented itself as a must stop for future trips. If you're only going to hit one or two spots in Paso, please put Jada on your list.Tasting consisted of 6 wines with a wonderful pairing board. The grounds are beautiful with an elevated modern vibe. Outdoor fire pits looked relaxing! But the wine is the true star here. From Napa to the Russian River Valley, to Amador and throughout the central coast, I can count on one hand how many wineries have knocked it out of the park on each style, and Jada hits that mark.

Nice wines and view from balcony patio. It’s $25 with a 2 bottle purchase. Most of their wines were $67/$87 which I thought was pretty steep to purchase wine to waive the tasting. The tasting was all reds which I enjoyed. The patio is dog friendly.

Jada has long been one of my favorite wineries, and it is in one of the most beautiful locations in the Paso Robles area. The optional cheese pairing with the wine tasting is a must!! Great cheeses complement the outstanding wine!Brittany and Eric were incredibly warm and gracious tasting room hosts. My sister, 2 retired racing greyhounds, and I had a fantastic time tasting the wine and cheese and chatting with Brittany. When in Paso Robles, do your taste buds and your psyche a favor and drop by Jada for great wine and even better company.
