Dunning Vineyards, a cherished family-owned winery, stands nestled in the secluded heights of Paso Robles' Westside. Since 1991, Winemakers Bob & Jo-Ann Dunning have passionately crafted limited-production, award-winning artisanal wines. Their vineyard, graced by Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Pinot Noir, gained an elevation of over 1400 feet. Lean, calcareous rock-infused soils create the perfect environment for low-yield vines. Paso Robles' warm days, cooled by the nearby Pacific, prolong the growing season, resulting in fruit of exceptional intensity and concentration. Sustainable practices and hands-on vineyard care ensure overall vine balance.
Nestled atop the vineyards, the Dunning Vineyards Guest Villa offers sweeping views of vineyards and coastal mountains, providing an idyllic wine country retreat.
Dunning Vineyards adheres to traditional winemaking, employing small lot fermentation, gentle handling of red "must," and barrel fermentation in French oak for whites. Winemaker Bob Dunning emphasizes, "Our focus is to produce wines that express the flavors of the vineyards, the terroir." These techniques yield wines of remarkable richness, concentration, and elegance.
