Deovlet Wines, founded by Ryan Deovlet, is evidence of an unwavering passion for winemaking. This odyssey began with vineyard experiences across Australia and New Zealand, followed by invaluable mentorship under Central Coast legend Stephen Dooley. The pivotal turning point came in Mendoza, Argentina, under the tutelage of renowned winemaker Paul Hobbs, ultimately inspiring the creation of Deovlet Wines in 2008. Starting with a modest two tons of Pinot Noir from La Encantada Vineyard, the winery has evolved into a steadfast commitment to crafting exceptional wines that authentically reflect their terroir.
Assistant Winemaker Grace Kegel seamlessly complements this narrative. With a profound reverence for nature, she transitioned swiftly from administrative roles to hands-on winemaking. Her global journey, from New Zealand to South Africa, honed her skills and deepened her passion for the craft. Meeting Ryan marked a significant chapter, leading to their collaboration on wines for Deovlet Wines and other esteemed vineyards. Together for nine vintages, Grace and Ryan share an extraordinary commitment to producing wines of exceptional quality and character, guided by a steadfast dedication to their craft and the unique terroirs they work with.

Deovlet wines are really extraordinary! Complexity and elegance is the house style here. Deovlet sources grapes from some of the finest vineyards in Santa Barbara County. Varieties include Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Cabernet Sauvignon among others, so there's something for everyone. You may even be fortunate enough to have Deovlet's owner/winemaker Ryan Deovlet pour his wines for you. Definitely worth a visit!
Man, I cannot get over how incredible these wines are. Probably my number one reason for visiting the wine regions of Southern California was because of Deovlet. As a sommelier, I find these wines both meditative, and gulpable. Ryan is an incredible wine maker and host. I hope to see these in more restaurants and retailers.
A small production wine maker, sourcing most fruit from Santa Rita hills and Santa Barbara. A fun tasting experience.
