In the quaint coastal town of Cambria, CA, a young immigrant's vision unfolded, revealing a world of opportunities. This narrative, woven with Hispanic heritage and a love for Spanish wines, gave rise to Bodega de Edgar—a symbol of passion and family.

The term "Bodega," Spanish for winery or cellar, perfectly encapsulates this venture's essence. It all began in Paso Robles, where, as a waiter, the founder delved into the rich tapestry of local wines. Friendships with esteemed producers nurtured his curiosity, evolving from Cellar Rat to a holistic understanding of winemaking.

In 2007, the dream materialized into Bodega de Edgar, initially crafting 250 cases. Today, with the 2018 vintage, the brand burgeons to 3,500 cases, demonstrating an unwavering commitment. The focus remains on sourcing top-tier fruit, ensuring each bottle reflects excellence while remaining accessible. Bodega de Edgar—a fusion of artistry, tradition, and a relentless pursuit of quality.

We went to Paso Wine Fest for the first time a few weeks ago, (the first one Post-Covid) and stopped by Straight Out of Paso's booth near the end of the day. As we were looking at the wines on offer a good looking guy came up next to the server and jokingly said, "Don't serve this guy" and pointed to my Chargers hat. Turns out he was a Rams fan. But honestly I kinda stopped being a Chargers fan when they moved to LA. I just wore the hat because I knew it was going to be a hot day and we would be outside. But we got to talking and Brandon, (the guy's name), showed me pictures of So-fi stadium and told me I REALLY needed to see a game there. We tasted their wines and pretty much loved everything. Brandon spent quite a bit of time with us and introduced us to their winemaker and even a few other local winemakers. He was really awesome. On our next Paso trip we will certainly be planning a stop by their tasting room.
