Riverbench Vineyard and Winery
Sustainable
Established in 1973 along the Santa Maria Bench, Riverbench Vineyard is a historic winemaking haven, rooted in the cultivation of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Originally renowned for supplying grapes to prestigious wineries, our journey took a new turn in 2006 when we began crafting limited quantities of exceptional wines available exclusively through our wine club and tasting rooms in Santa Maria and Santa Barbara, California.
Situated on 115 acres of Pinot Noir and 15 acres of Chardonnay, our vineyard embraces its historical significance. Meticulously evaluating each block, we ensure the vitality of our vines, with a commitment to sustainable practices since 2008. The addition of Pinot Meunier in 2015 marked a milestone, introducing the first Santa Barbara sparkling Pinot Meunier to our offerings in 2019.
Our vineyard's location on the Santa Maria Bench, with alluvial soils and rocky terrain, provides an ideal foundation for our grapes. Embracing the unique microclimates of the Santa Maria Valley AVA, our wines, notably Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, thrive in this east-to-west valley along the Pacific coastline. Our dedication to sustainability goes beyond winemaking; since 2008, we have been SIP Certified, ensuring environmentally sound, socially equitable, and economically feasible practices that contribute to the well-being of our vineyard and community.
